A safari is a trip on land, usually in jungle or savanna environments, which is engaged in for the purpose of viewing or hunting animals. But in Nepal hunting is not available in all Conservation Areas. Most often, the modern safari involves viewing, photographing, and experiencing animals in their natural habitats with greater laws for the preservation of many animal species.
Safari is a Swahili word, which originally derived from the Arabic word for travel, safara. Most associate the idea of going on safari with Africa, but actually there are many safari destinations throughout the world. Most of the safari trips in Nepal are done by motor transport. It may simply be too dangerous to be walking around animals, or in another word, possibly deadly animals.

It can also be dangerous to the animals to closely interact with humans. Watching animals from the security of a vehicle allows one to come more closely to the animals with less danger to both animals and humans.
In Nepal there are 16 National Parks build to preserve animals and other natural means. Alternately, many lodges are built near animal reservations of Nepal. A safari, meaning the actual tour to see animals, can last anywhere from two days to two weeks.
The southern part of Nepal is full of dense forest; called Terai. In Nepal basically safari is much popular in three conservation areas; Royal Chitwan National Park, Royal Bardia National Park and Koshi Tappu National Park. Safaris in these areas will give you exciting views of will animals and birds, while you will get into the forest by jeep or by Elephant and even by foot. The best time to make your safari trip remarkable is October-March, since April- June is hot (above 30 degrees Celsius) and July- September is the rainy.
